Article and image contribution guidelines

Originality: Articles submitted for publication on must be written exclusively for that news media and must not have been previously published or submitted to any other publisher.

Promotion: Articles must not be commercial or promotional with respect to any specific product or service. Any such references will be omitted or reworded in general terms in order to protect the legitimacy of articles in the eyes of our readership.

Length: We recommend articles of approximately 600-1200 words.

Document Format: Documents should be submitted as Microsoft Word files.

Credentials: Please include verifiable contact and credential information (i.e. a very brief biography) and a high-resolution color headshot with all submissions. We include a short bio sketch of the author with each published article.

Review and Editing Process: An in–house editorial panel reviews all articles. Editing may be done to improve grammar and readability. Titles may be amended to maximize reader engagement and/or accommodate space limitations.

Copyright: If an article is accepted for publication, an “Assignment of Copyright” form must be signed and returned before we can publish your work. This form ensures that you have not published your work elsewhere and that if it is published subsequently in an amended format, it must include acknowledgement of its publication on jamaicanlifeand where it appeared originally. A single signed copyright covers all articles you submit to JABI Media for publication.

Publishing Timeline: JABI Media will not guarantee that accepted articles will be published immediately, unless it is a news item or is otherwise time-critical.
